Cooking Methods baked fennel

Cooking times vary depending on size and quality. Fennel may be sliced and used raw in salads. Fennel top is used to flavour fish dishes and has a pronounced flavour.

Cook the fennel base in boiling salted water for 15-20 minutes or until tender. Do not over cook fennel, proceed as for all cauliflower recipes.

Fennel can be also braised as for celery.

Fennel top is a herb used in cookery for its special flavour.
