SEASONING (2 of 2)
An image describing how smell is translated by the human brain
Seasoning skills develop as you gain in confidence, always use a spoon to taste sauces and soups to determine if the seasoning is correct. These skills do take time to establish, it is always a good idea to discuss how much or little seasoning is required with experienced chefs or cooks.
When cooking for example, never eat mints, which dull or kill the ability to taste.
Seasoning can mean the difference between a satisfied or unhappy customer.
Try to understand the flavour development of each dish, recipe or product. How should it taste?
Remember you can always add a bit more but not so easily take it away.
