Slicing
Slicing vegetables or fungi should be carried out with care and consideration to produce slices of the same thickness.
If this preparation is uneven, then some slices might be over cooked while others are still raw.

Grating cheese such as parmesan needs to be done with care and often requires an electric grater.
When grating by hand, always allow the cheese to fall from the hand grater to prevent it from compacting in the tube of the grater.
